William “Billy” Lung Bue Chew Keen

William “Billy” Chew Keen passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013 surrounded by family. He was born May 29, 1923 in Quesnel, B.C. .


A beautiful memorial service was held on February 22, 2013 in Quesnel, B.C. with Rev. Margot Rose officiating. Touching stories were shared by Tom Moffat, Mick Keen, and Gordon Perry, who recited a poem he had written about Bill. A Royal Canadian Legion Honour Guard ceremony was also held. There was a slideshow tribute shown and a heartfelt song performed by Holly and Erica Benson, daughters of the late Frances Keen.


Bill is survived by his sister Beatrice (Wong), sons Don, Mick, Kevin, and daughter Karen. He will be deeply missed by his family as well as many other relatives and dear friends.


Bill was a long standing member of the Quesnel community. He loved Quesnel for its “small town feel” and enjoyed the many wonderful and colourful friends that he met through playing and coaching sports.
