The family of Bill Hislop is saddened to announce that Bill died Friday December 17, 2010 at G R Baker, following a long-time battle with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) at age 58. Bill is survived by his mother, Marion Hislop, sister Sharon Ingraham and her husband Terry, nieces: Julie Rumer and her husband Jason, Katy Plesuk and her husband Scott, and his great nephew Jack Rumer (all of Edmonton, Alberta). He also leaves to mourn his death, a constant and loyal companion, his dog Simon, and many, many friends. Bill was predeceased by his father John Hislop in 1995. A memorial for Bill will be held, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 12 noon, at The Warrior Song Cafe, 374 McLean Street. The family wish to thank the Salvation Army for their kindness and generosity during this difficult time, in particular Pastors Deb Vanderheyden and Ed Leake, and would ask that any tributes in honour of Bill be directed to the Salvation Army. Thanks also to Christopher Fitzgerald of Clayton’s Funeral Home who has been an ongoing source of strength, and helpful direction during these arrangements.
