Bill died peacefully in his sleep shortly before midnight on July 26, 2014.

He was born in Vancouver, BC and was raised in Fruitvale, BC with six brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth and by his children Sue (Jamie), Tammy (Adam), Steve (Trina), Philip (Renée), Rose (Chris), and Karen (Brandon), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Betty (John), Archie (Linda), Les, Joanne (Ken), Carol (Bob), and Lynn (Gord).

Bill worked for most of his life in Broadcasting and Journalism. He moved, with his wife Elizabeth and their three children, to Quesnel in 1986. He retired from West Fraser in 2006.

During his 28 years in Quesnel Bill dedicated himself to volunteering in the community, most notably in Quesnel Minor Hockey, Softball, and Performing Arts Festivals. Bill also proudly volunteered as an Off-Ice Official at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

Bill was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, an avid runner, collector and a devoted Grandfather; he will be deeply missed by his family and by the community.

Bill’s service will be held on August 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The family thanks the community for all their generosity these last months and asks that in lieu of flowers, please simply show kindness and charity to another family in need.
