William Robert Blackmore passed away peacefully at Dunrovin Park Lodge on February 6, 2006.
Bill was born in Westbourne, MB. on July 12, 1903. He married Bertha Switzer on September 13, 1932 and lived and raised their family of 7 in Westbourne, MB. until relocating to Quesnel in 1956.
Bill was employed by Weldwood of Canada until his retirement in 1973. After his retirement, he and Bertha enjoyed many trips, by car and bus tours.
Bill was predeceased by daughter Ellen McEwan in 1990 and his beloved wife of 73 years, Bertha, on January 19th of this year.
He is survived by his sister Ana Denby of Winnipeg, MB, and six children; Bob of Wainwright, AB, Jack (Marilyn) of Ft. Sask. AB., Wilma (Grant) of Quesnel, David (Alice) of Quesnel, Fay (Bruce) of Victoria Beach, MB, Betty of Pt. Coquitlam, BC.
“Boppy” will be missed by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. There will be no service at this time, by request.
