William 'Willy' James Zaychkowsky

July 11, 2006

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willy on July 11, 2006. He passed away suddenly at his home in Quesnel, B.C.

Willy was born in North Battleford, Sask., on June 17, 1952. He grew up on the family farm in the Marlin District and attended school there until grade 8. He then attended Glaslyn Central High until grade 11.

In 1972 Willy wed Susan Anne Schwab. They moved to Quesnel and he began working at West Fraser Mills. A few years later, Willy moved to the newly opened Quesnel River Pulp.

The young couple had two children, Charlene and Angie.

The family’s great ambition led them to building and selling homes, making a fortune along the way. They developed Larch Ave. Mobile Home Park in the early 1990’s. After many years of hard work Willy had more time to enjoy the things he loved, his hobbies included fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Riley, Haley, Gavin and Jenna.

Willy had planned to retire in June 2007 and his untimely death is a tragedy to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Anne Zaychkowsky, children Charlene and Angie, and grandchildren Riley, Haley, Gavin and Jenna, parents John and Anne Zaychkowsky, brothers Michael, George, Eddie and Robert, sisters Betty, Sherry and Susan.

He will be missed dearly as well by many in-laws, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A sincere thank you to everyone who helped out during this difficult time. Thanks for all the flowers, food and love that we received. We appreciate it more than words can say. We will never forget Willy and we will never forget your kindness and support during this time.
