Winston Robert Louttit passed away peacefully August 27, 2007 at the age of 91 years old.

Winston was born November 22, 1915 in Elgin, Manitoba to Florence and David Louttit. He had four brothers and one sister.

At the age of 19, Wyn moved to B.C. where he met his wife Mary Kennely and together they had five children. Wyn and Mary traveled throughout the province where they owned a dairy farm, cattle ranch, hotel and restaurant. They finally settled in Quesnel, BC. where Wyn worked in the forest industry working as a buckerman, faller and sawyer. Wyn also worked at Wiers Sawmill and Barkerville as a night watchman until his retirement at the age of 70.

Winston was predeceased by wife Mary in 1978. He then found enjoyment in gardening and planting his numerous flower beds around his home. He met his companion Mary in 1980 and together they enjoyed traveling, tending to their flowers and visiting family. Each year Wyn’s family held a birthday party for him and you could always see a smile on his face when he was with his family. He also enjoyed keeping healthy, he exercised daily and never missed his daily walk. In his later years, Wyn enjoyed going to events at Dunrovin, potlucks at the Fraser Village and playing pool at the Senior’s Centre.

He will be greatly missed by his children Carol (Pete) Kimmie, Donelda Koos, John (Jeannette), Penny (Dave) Norn, David (Marlene) as well as 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Winston was predeceased by wife Mary, his granddaughter Robin McLean and his companion Mary Vielette. A service was held fro Winston at the Seventh Day Adventist Church by Pastor Steve Yaceyko, on August 31, 2007 with his granddaughters Donna Norn and Michelle Daniels assisting with the service.
