Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel is busy planning their annual Bowl For Kids Sake, April 29. The theme for it this year is “Spooktacular.” Major sponsors include Central Mountain Air, VIA Rail Canada and the Wolf.

Lane sponsors to date are All West Glass, Dunkley Lumber, West Fraser Mills Ltd. and Bob Simpson, MLA. Six more lane sponsors are needed.  Give Joanie a call to learn more about how you can contribute.

Other sponsors include:  Barkerville Historic Town, Vancouver Canadians Baseball, BC Lions, Vancouver Whitecaps, PNE, Vancouver Aquarium, Old Spaghetti Factory, Stanley Park Carriage Rides, Kumsheen River Rafting, Interior Whitewater Expeditions and Best Western Abercorn Inn.  More teams are needed! You can register and collect pledges online at bigbrothersbigsistersofquesnel.ca. You will then be entered in a draw for a PVR donated by Telus.

If you would like to participate, call Joanie to book your team for the hour and a half session.  Co-workers, families and friends can form five-member teams, collect pledges and come out and bowl at Rev Bowling Lanes.  Issue a challenge to another agency, business or friend and you could win $300 worth of advertising sponsored by the Wolf radio station.

For every $100 collected in pledges per person (19 years and older), your name goes into the incentive draws.  If you are unable to play, you can still pledge or send a tax-deductible donation.  Thank you to 7-11 South and Rev Bowling Lanes for participating in our April pin up promotion.

Our agency served more than 160 children/youth in the community last year. There are many children who would like to have a mentor. The funds raised from this event help us sustain our mentoring programs.

BBBSQ received a grant from BMO Financial Group through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada for our Go Girls/Game On programs.  We will be running the after-school sessions throughout the next year at various sites.

Stay tuned for West Jet raffle – will be selling tickets in April.
