Counter attack

Recently there was discussion in the media re: rewriting Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn to change the “N” word to something more PC acceptable.

This is altering history and a literary classic at the whim of a minority group with a specific agenda. Now it’s the lyrics in a rock group ‘Dire Straits’ song where the word “faggot” is mentioned three times.

According to the media, it was ONE person who objected and that was sufficient for the government watchdog to act and require scrubbing of the word. Even gay rights advocates are speaking out against this.

Those of you familiar with the premise of George Orwell’s “1984” will recall the term ‘Newspeak’, the lingua franca of the day that was constantly undergoing change with the elimination and/or addition of new words according to the current whim.

If the agents of ‘Big Brother’ get away with this, it will set the stage for an all out assault on the entire lexicology and bibliography of the English language.

Time for a counter attack. We need to object strenuously to the ongoing tyranny of PC in all things and castigate those that advocate and support this travesty.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of it’s victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some time be satiated; but those that torment us for our our good will torment us without end, for they do it with the approval of their own conscience.” – CS Lewis
