Editor,
The local Quesnel chapter of Ducks Unlimited held a meeting Tuesday, May 10 at Ulysses restaurant.
Darcy Horn, a chapter member, was recognized by the Ducks Unlimited organization for his dedication and 15 years of volunteer service. He was presented with a certificate and Ducks Unlimited print for his service. Thank you Darcy from all the local volunteers.
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores and manages wetlands and grasslands to benefit waterfowl, wildlife and people. The goal is to ensure abundant wetlands and waterfowl for generations to come while improving Canadian lives. Waterfowl are migratory. That’s why our conservation efforts impact diverse areas across the entire country including our community.
The local chapter will not host a Ducks Unlimited fundraising banquet this year as Covid restrictions were lifted too late, but we are planning a banquet for May 6, 2023, at the local Seniors’ Centre. Stay tuned for more announcements.
We do need volunteers to pull off another banquet so if you’re interested check out the link at https://www.ducks.ca/how-to-help/get-involved/volunteer/
