Editor,

This time of year is difficult for many of us for various reasons. Because of this it’s especially important to celebrate the humble heroes that remind us that one person can make a huge difference in unifying and uplifting a community.

A huge shout out and thank you to Quesnel’s very own Ashley Shmidt. Ashley is a small business owner and amazing human that selflessly contributes her love, energy and creativity to everything she does. This is especially true for helping her community.

Whether it’s fundraising for Terry Fox, BC Children’s Hospital & Canuck Place Children’s Hospice with Keian’s Holiday Wish Toy Drive, or organizing presents to support our seniors with Better at Home, Ashley is front and centre leading the efforts to brighten someone’s day.

If you’re not sure, a good place to start is to connect with Ashley on social media either through her business or personal account and offer your support. Her enthusiasm for helping is infectious.

Thanks for being awesome Ashley.

Cheers,

Sarah Choi
