Editor:

Why I am supporting Coralee:

1) Coralee was raised and educated in Quesnel and has a very comprehensive understanding of our community. what the community values, and what it needs to move forward. She appreciates and shows insight into the rural, urban and suburban nature of our riding in Cariboo North.

2) She has gained valuable experience in having been our elected MLA and having been in charge of a ministerial position.

3) Two of her highly regarded personal qualities are trust and loyalty.

4) She is a doer who can and has achieved results under difficult a=circumstances i.e.: Kerlsey school, scheduled to be closed in June 2017 and after major negotiations undertaken by Coralee an the community will now remain open to the children of Kersley. This was a major achievement.

Good luck with the upcoming election.

Oakes, a strong sense of purpose

Editor:

Our MLA Coralee Oakes, elected to the BC Legislature in 2013, was immediately put to work as Minister of Sport and Culture.

Coralee puts in many hours in Victoria and spends as many weekends inner home riding as possible. She has great respect for her colleagues and works closely with our premier who has visited our community three times in 2016 and was here again just last week supporting Corlaee Oakes.

It has bee said of Coralee that “she listens with a passion for opportunities to make Quesnel and her riding a better place to live.”

Quoting Coralee: “I believe we can and should always be striving to improve and overcome obstacles.”

Personally I consider Coralee a friend. She has integrity and a strong work ethic. Because her roots are in Quesnel we can trust her to continue to keep the North Cariboo strong. She has fought to keep our rural schools open, among many other accomplishments.

Coralee says: “I feel a strong sense of purpose and I hope continue to earn the trust of my community.”

So please get out there and vote as soon as possible for, what I feel, Is the most worthy candidate in, what I feel, is the only party who will fight for our forest industry and win – the BC Liberals.

Why I’m supporting Oakes

Editor:

I am supporting Coralee Oakes because as a small business owner I want an MLA who truly understands the challenges and opportunities we all face in a resource community.

Our business depends on a strong economy allowing us to put folks to work across British Columbia. Coralee has worked extremely hard these past four years for our community and the region carrying ur voices to Victoria and they have always been heard.

My pleasure to support

Editor:

It is indeed my pleasure to send a letter in support of Coralee Oakes. I have known Coralee since I was your Mayor first coming across her in 1989 when she was a young lady and was successful in winning the Miss Quesnel Pageant. Since that time I have watched her grow. Two terms on Quesnel’s Council helped prepare her for her entry into Provincial politics. When she was elected as your M L A she was quickly appointed as a Cabinet Minister and has retained that important Ministry of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction Ministry since the appointment. Her continued appointment in such a strategic post is evidence of the Government’s belief she is effective in that position. As a Cabinet Minister she has an important voice for the Cariboo in key discussions relating to matters of great importance. Coralee has been, and I have know doubt will continue to be, a strong voice on rural matters. In particular her knowledge of the present soft wood tariff situation is invaluable for your community. There are many jobs in your community at risk without a steady hand at the helm on this issue.

I have know doubt that as I continue to watch Coralee over the next few years that she will make a significant contribution to Provincial politics and deliver your concerns on your behalf to other Legislators in an attempt to resolve your issues.

Please vote for Coralee Oakes on May 9. As always your humble servant,

Mike Pearce

A vote for Oakes is a vote for our region

Editor:

Cariboo North has been very well served by Coralee Oakes. Not only did she represent our interests and bring the issues of rural BC to the forefront she became a Minister. She has served as the Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development and then became the Minister of Small Business. She is passionate about the same things you are passionate about - keeping services in Quesnel, growing services in Quesnel and having a strong economy. She brought the needs of rural BC forward to save schools, she worked with the city on a partnership with Northern Health to attract more doctors and she started the small business countable forum to look at ways to not only strengthen but to diversify our economy. Coralee also hosted an opportunities forum and brought together more than 60 government representatives to Quesnel to talk about transition and fund new opportunities, diversification ideas and growth potential. She also hosted the entire cabinet in Quesnel and Barkerville last year.

The investments made in our region on infrastructure and community projects has grown - more than I’ve witnessed compared to previous MLA’s – and looking ahead the upcoming investments are paving a job-filled way forward. A new bridge to he west of Quesnel to support Kluskus and provide access to New Gold and and championing new economic opportunities happening in our region for mining, a new ER and ICU, more road projects, more jobs, more stability and positivity and creativity as our community diversifies.

We have a spark plug for us – fighting for you and me and small business and industry and she has made a pound difference. Cariboo North hasn’t had a representative who sat in cabinet in more than 30 years. Let’s keep our region strong and ensure Cariboo North remains a focus of the provincial mandate. Let’s get out and vote Coralee Oakes May 9.
