The Museum’s first-ever de-accessioning and bottle sale was a roaring success! Thank you to all our happy customers as well as the volunteers who made all this happen.
The Friends of the Museum seventh Annual Book Sale had traffic backed up in the parking lot and enjoyed a successful event as well. Thank you to all those involved.
And a special thank you to Patty at the Visitors’ Centre for letting us invade her space.
Thinking of things to do – for those of you, young and old, who have read or are reading the Twilight Series, come down to the Museum and see our very own haunted doll. Mandy awaits your arrival with anticipation. Her soulful eyes follow you as you move in and around the artifacts. Mandy truly is a Cariboo treasure and if you didn’t believe in hauntings before you came in, you will at least have cause for thought before you leave.
Do you happen to have...a picture of Wild Bill? That would be Bill Amsbaugh, a well-known person in the forestry industry – well-known in the 40’s and 50’s. Wild Bill’s Lightning Still is set up at the Museum and we want a picture of him to place with the exhibit.
While you are shopping at West Park Mall, make sure you stop and see the Museum’s Time Traveller. And, at the same time, take time to enter our contest!
Find all the artifacts from A to Z; fill out the form; sign it and drop it off at the museum. There will be a draw for the winners with all the correct answers. The winning entry wins a membership for the Friends of the Museum, which includes an annual Pass to Quesnel Museum and Archives.
As the tourist season goes into full swing, the museum has begun to“Cariboo-ize” its Gift Shop. If you are a Cariboo artist with a product that characterizes the Cariboo, consider taking your wares to the Museum Gift Shop. Items are left on consignment and include a specific time frame for your merchandise. With tourists from all over looking for something unique, perhaps you have that perfect something they can take home as a souvenir. Contact Elizabeth to discuss specifics.
