Rising Quesnel rodeo star returns home after life-changing accident

Tyson Roberts and family are thankful for the support

Dear Quesnel,

As some may be aware our son Tyson Roberts had a life-changing accident at the Prince George rodeo in June. After almost three months in Vancouver he has returned home.

While life is very different for him and he is still getting used to a lot of things, he is adjusting well.

We wanted to reach out and thank everyone for the tremendous support from family, friends, businesses, the ranching community, and so many others for their tireless work in raising money for Tyson and sending well wishes to him. It was so touching all the support.

We want to thank Ray Jasper and the Quesnel Rodeo Club, Rodeo PG and Kevin Cunin, Little Red Pony, Gary Nicholson and Ryan McNaughton for organizing events in support of Tyson. We also want to thank the BC High School Rodeo Association.

Tyson is going to use some of the money to help improve his mobility around the ranch, and some will be put away to help secure his future.

I have lived in Quesnel my entire life and knew it was a fabulous place to live, but never realized just how amazing it was.

Thank you again for your support.

We are so sorry if we missed someone and we did not mean to do so — it is truly an oversight due to the overwhelming support.

-Stew and Jenn Roberts
