Billy Barker Days sports results

From the fun race to horseshoes, there was plenty of sporting action during Billy Barker Days

Fun Race

The Quesnel and District Rec Centre hosted another successful Billy Barker Days fun run last Sunday.

Approximately 85 runners take part, recreation coordinator Richard Gauthier said.

As per other Billy Barker Days events, the rain stayed away which made for happy faces all around.

In fact, Gautheir said, the weather was so delightful some participants shaved up to three minutes off their personal best times for the 12-km run.

The sun also encouraged some participants to give the 12-km run a shot for the first time and there were youth that took part in the competitive 5-km race, as well as parents and grandparents in their 70s.

“We had all kinds of folks participating and we had prizes galore,” Gauthier said.

“Many people won something from a great selection of donations from local business.

“This race cannot happen without the extra time and efforts from volunteers.

“Thanks to all volunteers.”
