Quesnel lawn bowlers were perfect hosts last week as they welcomed a group of eight lawn bowlers from Prince George.

The teams vied for the trophy bowl, a biannual affair and again the bowlers from Prince George left town with the prize.

Leading the way for Prince George was Cecile Mortensen who finished the day with 31 points.

Mortensen’s partner, Fred David was impressed with the welcome the Quesnel club extended, including the weather and a lunch time spread he described as, “beautiful.”

Yvonne Brinkert, who has been bowling for four years, was Quesnel’s leading scorer with 28 points.

“We hope to bring the bowl back to Quesnel in August when we visit Prince George,” club secretary Helene Boudreau said.
