Celebrating a quarter century on the back of a horse

The Chilliwack Rodeo celebrated a quarter of a century last weekend and a handful of Quesnel riders were celebrating right along with them.

Quesnel's Steve Lloydtook first in tie down roping, beating Jake Herman of Chase, who finished second, and Joel Isnardy of Cache Creek, who finished third.

Steve Hohmann of Quesnel shared his victory in bareback with Prince George's Jared Marshall. Marshall also placed third.

Hohmann also took home a third in saddle bronc. Kaila Mussel of Chilliwack and Cole Scott of Kamloops tied for first in the event.

Taylor Cherry of Quesnel celebrated a win in junior barrel racing, with Lane Wills of Quesnel finishing third. Savona's Tosha Seitz finished between the two Quesnel girls in second.

In bull riding, Matt O'Flynn of Quesnel took third. Colton Manuel of 150 Mile finished just ahead of him in second. Meritt's Mike Gill took first.

Quesnel's Dyson LeNeve took third in pee wee barrel racing. Brainna Billy of Williams Lake took second and Elly Farmer was faster than them all in first.

In steer wrestling, Gill took first, followed by Grant Fosbery of Merritt. Colton Manuel of 150 Mile House took third.Katrina Ilnicki of Williams Lake took first in breakaway roping. Denise Swampy of Williams Lake took second, followed by Kirsten Bell of Houston.

Savona's Troy Gerard took first in jr. breakaway roping. Houston's Kyle Bell followed in third, with Harley Antoine of Cache Creek rounding out the top three.

In ladies Barrel Racing, Sarah Gerard was fastest around the barrels, followed by Logan Lake's Monica Orum in second and Savona's Joleen Seitz in third.

Blaine Manuel of Alkali Lake took first in junior steer riding. Kamloops' Jackson Scott and Robbins tied in second/third.

Knutsford's Aaron Palmer and Savona's Mark Pozzobon made an unbeatable team in team roping, taking first. Cache Creek's Cash Isnardy and Kamloops' Mike Beers tied with the Pritchard/Cache Creek team of Chad Evenson/Carey Isnardy in the second/third spot.
