The Correlieu secondary school football team’s season came to an end Friday evening at Massich Stadium in Prince George with a 45-9 loss to the team from Duchess Park.

Despite the score, Jeff Morris, coach of the Correlieu Clan was pleased with the effort of his team and looked back on the season with a positive eye.

“The season was a success,” Morris said.

“A definite improvement over last year.”

The Duchess Park Condors entered the game against the Clan as the overwhelming favourites.

The Condors finished the season with a perfect 6-0 record and are the odds-on favourites to win the PG Bowl next Friday.

Highlights of the game for Morris included two kickoff returns by James Reid, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

Also making the highlight reel was a nice  32-yard field goal by Nathan Erickson-Smith.

The Clan will be losing 12 of 32 players to graduation this year, notably quarterback Jared Roch, running back Greg Harasym and offensive linesman Shawn Sadler.

Sadler will be a big loss, as he was named to the conference all-star team.

Morris also pointed to family and friends as keys to the teams success.

“We thank them for their support throughout the season,” Morris said.
