The public event with the Coy Cup has been postponed.
A meet-and-greet had been planned for May 13 with the Quesnel Kangaroos hockey team and the championship trophies they won this season, the most significant being the Coy Cup for being the top team in B.C. for the Senior-AA level.
The intense weather expected this weekend has caused the cancellation of the event, but just for now.
“We feel this weekend it’s going to be too hot to sit in Spirit Square with not much shade around,” said team captain Alessio Tomassetti. “Having kids run around, and older people, we don’t think it’s a good idea. We are going to postpone it to a later date.”
The team will make an announcement soon regarding the rescheduled date.
