Twenty-six teams competed at the Fifth Annual Saint Paddy’s Day Open Bonspiel at the Quesnel Curling Club facility on March 16-18.

There was one out-of-town rink from Smithers.

With 26 foursomes, which is a great turnout – especially for the local teams – there were four events.

The Roger Kaleta rink won the A event and they beat the Dave Needham rink by a score of 7-3 in the A event final.

The Colin Shpak foursome took the B event final by beating the Len Gamache rink 7-6 in the B event final.

The Brad Christianson crew captured the C event by defeating the Mary Ellison rink by a score of 8-3.

The Alex Coffee rink took the D event by knocking off the Quesnel Volunteer Firemen by a score of 8-6.

The competition was keen and organizers say everyone had a great time and helped support the club’s coffers.
