Curling Superleague: Investor’s Group finishes in top spot, while A&W grills Babcon

Wednesday night’s curling superleague action saw some close games as teams prepared for upcoming playoff action.

Investor’s Group extended their record to 15-1 with a 10-8 win over Macro Industries who finished the season with a 6-10 record. A humble group, Investor’s let their record do the talking for them.

The Billy Barker Casino foursome ended the season with a 12-4 record after dealing Cariboo Pulp a 10-2 loss on sheet E.

Shut down came early this year for the Cariboo Pulp squad as the casino clan stuffed them into the boiler. Hourly took down salary. A perfect freeze in the seventh end iced over the steam plant.

Take out experts, the A&W crew finished with an 11-5 record after a convincing 11-1 win over Babcon Group. A&W had the grill turned on high Wednesday night, stealing two points in each of the first three ends before Babcon scored a deuce in the fourth with a tap in.

It was handshakes all around after five end as A&W added a handful of counters.

Child Development Centre edged Centreline Collision, 6-5 with a take out game in the final end.

Douglas Lake Equipment handed Fraser River GM an 8-6 loss on sheet B.

The DLE crew used their ends wisely, beating the GM pit crew with only two four-enders.

DLE is quite familiar with 4x4’s and the GM team was stuck in two-wheel drive.

The win gave DLE an 11-5 record on the year, and put Fraser River GM at a 7-9 record.

On sheet A, the Karin’s Deli ladies took a close one against the Jar Transport team, despite a slow start – probably distracted by the media attention.

Down by three, the deli crew picked four in the third end. The teams traded steals until the final end when Karin’s skip made the perfect draw with the hammer for the 8-7 win.

Karin’s finishes the season with a record of 5-11, and Jar with a record of 6-10.
