CURLING SUPERLEAGUE:IG shaves Cariboo Pulp, A&W fries JAR

Four teams find themselves in first place with 7-4 records after Wednesday’s Quesnel Curling Superleague action.

Four teams find themselves in first place with 7-4 records after Wednesday’s Quesnel Curling Superleague action.

On sheet C, Investor’s Group blew open a close game with a steal of three in the sixth end against Cariboo Pulp.

Pulp prices continued to decline as IG stole another three in the seventh end on their way to a convincing 9-3 win.

On sheet F, A&W avenged a 12-1 thrashing early in the season as they fried JAR Transportation 10-2.  JAR opened up with four flat tires going into the drive-thru and the A&W foursome mercifully turned the griddle off after six ends.

On sheet E, Douglas Lake Equipment improved to 7-4 with a 9-8 win over Handi Storage.

DLE provided the Handi crew with just enough rope to hang themselves as DLE bounced back from being down early.

After Handi scored four in the second end, the often miserable DLE crew fought back with a four-point end of their own.

Down by one going home, DLE scored two for the win thanks in large part to a perfectly swept freeze.

Over on sheet B, the Service Electric foursome improved to 6-5 as they amped up their game with a 7-3 win over Karin’s Deli,  who fall to 4-7 on the season.

Service Electric started off slow, but managed to keep the Deli team with range until the sixth end when the Electric crew wired a three-point end and added a single point in the seventh end to put the game away.

The Billy Barker Casino foursome improved to 6-5 on the season as they dealt the foursome from the Child Development Centre an 8-2 loss.

The action on sheet D saw the kids from the Child Development Centre receive a good lesson in gambling as they faced the full house from the casino gang.

In no time at all, the casino crew ended up dispatching the CDC sweepers with a royal flush.
