The Quesnel Kangaroos are in pursuit of their 12th Coy Cup title in the century this tournament has been played.

They are currently tied with Vernon for the 11 cups they have each won. No other team has won more than that. The next closest is Merritt with nine cup wins, then Prince George with seven, then Nanaimo with six.

The Kangaroos pursuit of sole possession of the Coy Cup record starts on Tuesday (March 28) at 8 p.m. when they take on their Central Interior Hockey League playoff rivals the Terrace River Kings.

Game Two for the Roos is March 29 at 8 p.m. versus the Penticton Silver Bullets.

Next after that is the Dawson Creek Canucks against the hometown Roos at 8 p.m. on Wednesday (March 30).

March 31 and April 1 are playoff days for the four teams competing for the 100-year-old Coy Cup, bestowed to the top Senior-AA team in British Columbia.

All games in this tournament are held at West Fraser Centre.

Anyone wanting tickets, if you did not reserve your seat with a tournament pass, is urged to get to the rink early. Sellouts are anticipated, including for games involving the other three visiting teams. All are loaded in talent and have had to earn their way to Quesnel via triumph in other leagues. Don’t miss any of these eight games, featuring some of the highest quality hockey anywhere in B.C. this year.
