Fan appreciation a hit at Gold Pan Speedway

The season opener was a success says Quesnel Auto Racing Association

Racing returned to the Gold Pan Speedway with fan appreciation on Saturday, June 25.

Kids were offered a ride in a race car during intermission, which was a hit, said Quesnel Auto Racing Association track president Mikey Garcia.

“The kids loved it, and the smiles were all worth it,” Garcia added, noting a lot more excitement will be forthcoming.

Next up at the Gold Pan Speedway is the annual Bob Willson Memorial Crash to Pass, coinciding with Billy Barker Days on Thursday, July 14.

Garcia said they’re expecting a big car count and crowd as they have not had a crash to pass since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Everyone is getting geared up and ready to get back at it.”

There will also be a Wescar 100 event on Saturday, July 16.
