Whatever the Bear Bunch’s New Year’s resolution was, safe to say it had something to do with never losing again: they are on a tear that doesn’t look to be stoppable.

They may have actually tapped the brakes in their win over the Builders, as they had a 4-1 lead which they nursed to a 5-3 victory.

Enjoying his second consecutive three-point morning was Colin “Clutch” Keis who scored a pair and assisted on Gord “Pink” Salmons eighth of the season, which is 56 short of his output of a decade ago.

Also popping a pair was Justin “Time” Rasmussen, who once again sits on top of the FHL scoring race.

Serenity had many of their missing links back for the contest as Glenn “Boom Boom” Boudreau’s goal was sandwiched by a pair of tallies from Lee “Nitro” Naeth who has been involved in an amazing 49 per cent of the Builders goals.

Meanwhile, in Rink 2, the string of close contests between the league’s second and third-place teams continued, as BCS came back to tie Fraser River at threes.

BCS had actually forged to a two-zip lead as Richard “The Man with the Golden Gloves” Lindstrom scored his first of two and assisted on Wade “The Blade” Fenton’s mesh annihilator.

A series of sometimes dubious penaltys against BCS allowed the Chevy Crew to claw back into the contest as “Jack” Russell Higdon and Jim “Soupy” Sales both fired one timers from the slot to erase the deficit.

Shane “The Pain” Thon then put his team ahead before “The Man with the Golden Gloves” knotted the contest for BCS with a couple of minutes remaining.

It was either a case of the two tenders putting on a clinic or the shooters having old ammunition in the shoot-out as all six shots were stopped to ensure no heartbreaks on Valentine’s Day.
