The Williams Lake Stampeders got the better of the Quesnel Kangaroos last weekend as they defeated Quesnel 6-4. It was fast paced and exciting game with both teams looking to get the early advantage. After both teams getting their chances it would be Williams Lake who would finally break through as they scored the first of the game to put the visitors up one.
The Kangaroos would not let the lead stand for long as Justin Fulton would connect on a one timer, on a cross ice pass by Karl Weiberg to beat Justin Foot of the Stampeders to even the score and get the home team on the board as both teams headed to the intermission tied at one.
The second would see Williams Lake jump on Quesnel fast as they scored 17 seconds into the period to put them up one, but the Kangaroos would respond with two of their own as Alessio Tomassetti would score off a rebound to even the score and Riley Marsh would give them the lead as he fired one past Foote.
As the period would come to a close it would be the Kangaroos who would carry the offensive zone time as they headed to the dressing room with the 2-1 lead.
The third would once again see Williams Lake get on the board early and would add another to take the lead, but it would once again be Marsh, who would draw the Kangaroos even. With the period winding down it would be Williams Lake who would get two quick one’s to take the two goal lead and would not relinquish it as they took the the 6-4 win.
