Mills lead cut to three points

The Quesnel Millionaires lead in the race for the last playoff spot, in the BCHL interior conference, was cut to three points Thursday night.

The Prince George Spruce Kings, who were trailing the Mills by five points, skated to a 4-2 win over the Merritt Centennials and with the win gain two points on the Mills.

The Mills, with 35 points, need to win one of their three remaining games. The Mills could also clinch the final playoff spot if the Spruce Kings lose one of their two remaining games, or tie both remaining games.

The Mills begin their last road trip Friday against the Westside Warriors, then travel to Penticton to face the Vees Saturday, and finish with an afternoon game Sunday against the Vernon Vipers.
