The Quesnel Kangaroos have evened the CIHL championship series at one game apiece, forcing a deciding game tomorrow (Sunday).

The big prize for the 2023 Central Interior Hockey League will be handed out at the end of the March 12 game at West Fraser Centre. Puck drop is 1 p.m. for this matinee climax.

The Roos, champions of the CIHL east division, dropped the first game in the series versus the west division champion Terrace River Kings. Terrace won on March 4 on their home ice by a final score of 6-5 in overtime.

But in Game 2 on Quesnel ice, it was the Kangaroos who came out on top in OT, this time by a 3-2 score. The Roos forced overtime with only 43 seconds left on the clock, then got the fans to leap out of their seats with the overtime winner.

Game 3 will be a fully charged all-the-marbles atmosphere.
