PHOTOS: Spectators entertained at Bob Willson Crash to Pass

There was a record crowd and 50/50 jackpot

There was a symphony of carnage at the Bob Willson Memorial Crash to Pass on Thursday, July 14.

Eager racing fans packed the Gold Pan Speedway despite the wet weather and weren’t disappointed.

It was a record-breaking crowd in the race that was cancelled in 2020 and 2021.

The 50/50 jackpot of $15,000, higher than any in the past, was won by Larry Goyette who was brought to the pits in a side by side to claim his prize.

This year’s Crash to Pass winner was Matthew McAbee. In second place was Layne Blair followed by Brian Bettles.

Alex McAbee and Sam Davies won the Crash to Pass crowd-pleaser, with Brandon Langille taking home best appearing.

Racing will return at the Gold Speedway on Saturday, July 16, with the Wescar 100.
