Quesnel biathlete competes in junior race series ahead of World Youth/Junior Championships

Quesnel biathlete Ryan Elden, 18, who recently qualified to be part of the Canadian junior team competing in the International Biathlon Union (IBU) junior race series, has completed his first races in Czech Republic.

On Jan. 26-27, Elden raced in the Junior Men’s 10km Sprint biathlon, placing 39th in the Friday event and 35th in Saturday’s race. In both races he was the second-fastest Canadian competitor.

Elden will next race in the IBU Junior Open European Championships on Feb. 1-4 in Slovenia on his way to the IBU Youth/Junior WOrld Championships in Estonia from Feb. 26-Mar. 4.
