Quesnel biathletes do well at BC Championships

Quesnel biathletes brought home buckets of medals from the championships near Whistler.

Seven of the club’s 13 athletes attended the BC Biathlon Championships last weekend at the 2010 Olympic site near Whistler.

Kyra Teetzen and Ryan Elden were double medal winners.

Kyra won gold in the sprint and silver in the mass start event in the junior girls division.

Ryan placed third in the sprint and then second in the mass start event in the Juvenile division.

Other medal winners were Anni Kurta placing second in the Juvenile sprint competition and Tristan Langdan taking home the bronze medal in the mass start event again in the Juvenile division.

The other club members who competed were Claire Elden placing fifth and fourth in the Midget category; Konrad Teetzen placing sixth both days; and Nicole deBlois placing fifth and then fourth in the Seniors Girls category.

This was a very successful weekend for the club’s athletes as they wrapped up the competion schedule for the season.
