Quesnel & District Minor Hockey Association welcomed teams from across the region over the weekend (Jan. 13-14) for its Pee Wee Rep tournament.

It was a fast-paced weekend of hockey with the players, who are 11 and 12 years old, working hard on home turf.

Quesnel’s team, coached by Dave Carnes and managed by Joyce Farmer, finished the weekend with two wins, both against Smithers, and two losses, against Kamloops and Prince George. The team came fifth overall.

Terrace placed first, Prince George second and Kamloops third.

Carnes says his team had a couple of tough losses but worked together well as a team.

“They played well. We had good goaltending from both goaltenders. We got a couple of wins, so it was decent.”

Farmer agreed, saying the team played hard all weekend.

“It was a great team effort.”
