The Quesnel Kangaroos beat the Terrace River Kings 6-3 over the weekend at the West Fraser Centre. The CIHL team's second game of the weekend against the Prince Rupert Rampage was cancelled due to too many illnesses and injuries.

The Roos took a very early lead, scoring the only two goals of the first period where Chase Astorino scored a few minutes into the game. Captain Alessio Tomassetti scored shortly after, growing the CIHL goal scoring record he broke earlier this season.

The Roos' Chad Kimmie had the home team start the third season strong with another goal. The River Kings broke the Roos' goal streak with two goals of their own before the Roos' Brayden Yager grew the team's lead to 4-2 at the end of the second period.

The River Kings scored the third period's first goal halfway through it. The Roos didn't rest on their one-goal lead and Astorino scored another goal with less than five minutes left in the period. Getting one final goal with only seven seconds left in the game, the Roos' Darby Madill gave the team their sixth goal.

The Kangaroos play their next game Nov. 9 at the West Fraser Centre against the Hazelton Wolverines.
