The Quesnel Kangaroos took their best-of-three series against the Lac La Hache Tomahawks with an 8-5 win Saturday night at Twin Arenas in front of 1,200 hockey fans.

The difference was a 20-second spurt during the third minute of play in the third period that saw the Kangaroos score three goals.

Joel Boyetchko got things started when he redirected a point shot to up the score to 5-3, then Paul Girodat scored the eventual game winner 13 seconds later and then Justin Fulton scored his second of the game, just seven seconds later to give the 'Roos a 7-4 lead.

Nick Tomassetti scored the first and last goals of the game for the Kangaroos, while Rigby Burgart and Dan Kirkham rounded out the scoring for the home team.

The 'Roos now wait to see what happens in the series between Terrace and Kitimat, which is knotted at one game apiece.  Should Kitimat win on Sunday, then the 'Roos head straight to the Coy Cup tournament.  Should Kitimat lose, the 'Roos would head into a second round of playoffs.
