Quesnel rodeo riders cash in at Barriere rodeo

Quesnel’s rodeo stars made their way to Barriere last weekend and came away with a ton of cash. Steve Hohmann led the charge, finishing in the money in four events.

Steve Hohmann of Quesnel had four top-three finishes at the Barriere rodeo last weekend.

Quesnel’s rodeo stars made their way to Barriere last weekend and came away with a ton of cash.

Steve Hohmann led the charge, finishing in the money in four events.

Hohmann took home $528.84 for a second-place finish in bareback competition, another $652.08 for a second-place finish in saddle bronc competition.

Hohmann also pocketed $332.10 for a third-place finish in steer wrestling.

Hohmann teamed up with Matt O’Flynn to dominate the bull riding competition.

O’Flynn and Hohmann finished tied for first after each had rides worth 78 points.

Both riders tucked $672.39 into their back pockets.

Hohmann earned $622.89 for his second-place finish after a 78 point ride.

Savanah Watson did herself and Quesnel proud with a third-place finish in barrel racing.

Watson turned the three barrels in a time of 17.185, to collect $196.02.

Lane Cork continued to do well in junior steer riding.

The young cowboy from Quesnel put in a 72 point ride to earn a second-place finish that earned a payout of $222.30.

In peewee barrel racing, Tyler Cherry nosed ahead of the competition with a time of 18.326.

The win gave Cherry a payout of $152.00.
