Quesnel U15 rep team hosting hockey tournament at West Fraser Centre

Spectators must wear masks and show proof of vaccination before entering the WFC

The Quesnel Thunder’s U15 team will finally host a tournament once again.

The team will be hosting other rep teams from Prince George, Terrace and Smithers. All of Quesnel’s games will be played at the West Fraser Centre. The Thunder’s tournament will kick off with a Friday, Oct. 15 night game against Prince George at 7 p.m. Quesnel will play twice on Saturday, Oct. 16 first at 10 a.m. against Terrace, then at 4:30 against Smithers.

Teams from Whistler and Williams Lake will also be playing in the tournament.

The finals of the tournament will go on Sunday, Oct. 17, with the start time to be determined.

Chelsee Scanlan, who has a child playing on the team, said everyone was eager to get back to playing games.

“It’s been a long time, they’re very looking forward to it,” she said.

“The parents are, everyone is. We’re so excited.”

Over 600 spectators will be allowed inside the West Fraser Centre, with all spectators having to show proof of vaccination to enter. Masks are required at all times in the arena.

Doors open 15 minutes prior to game-time.
