Racing returns to Quesnel auto track

Gold Pan Speedway roars back to life June 3

Auto racing is headed into its first curve of the new season.

The volunteer-run Goldpan Speedway facility and its Quesnel Auto Racing Association (QARA) invite the community to come enjoy the roar of the engines as the Tri-City Race Series gets underway.

“We invite everyone out to come watch Race 1 of the Tri-City street stocks for 2023 and our local classes,” said QARA’s Jarret Bonn. “I just wanted to say a big thank you to our volunteers that stepped forward to help fill our empty positions so we can move forward with racing June 3 at the Goldpan Speedway.

Another of QARA’s key volunteers, Mallary Hyshka, was enthusiastic that “racing is back for the 2023 season. Come out and cheer on your favorite local racers and see all the improvements that have been done. Racing will include Hornets, Pro-Mini’s and Street Stocks as well as King of the Hill (can you be the fastest around the track?) and a smoke show (got some old tires you wanna burn off?) during intermission.”

Come out and get your favorite seat close to the action on Oval Road, June 3.

Spectator Gate opens at 2 p.m

Qualifying is at 4 p.m.

Racing is at 5 p.m.

Audiences 18 and older are $20,

Students 12 to 17 & OAP $10,

Children and handicapped are free.

“There is still lots to do at the track so if you have a few spare moments please message Dave Olson or I and we can set you up with a job to help out at the track,” said Bonn.

Their contact information can be found at the Goldpan Speedway & QARA page on Facebook.
