The rodeo season rolled on through Redstone last weekend and Gold Pan residents followed to compete for cowboy glory.
Levi Lawlor of Quesnel took a double position in bull riding, finishing in both second and third. Colton Manuel of 150 Mile took first.
Pritchard's Chad Everson and Cache Creek's Carey Isnardy joined forces to take first in team roping, followed by the Kamloops/Quesnel team of Tim Terepocki/Jeff Wills. Wills also teamed up with Laura James of Kamloops to take third.
Quesnel's Taylor Cherry sat at the top of the heap of junior barrel racers in the event, followed by fellow Gold Pan resident Mariah Mannering sneaking in less than one hundredth of a second before Pritchard's Cassidy Evenson in third.
In junior breakaway roping, Dustin Spiers of Quesnel took first, followed by Kyle Bell of Houston. Savona's Troy Gerard came in third.
In ladies barrel racing, Sarah Gerard of Savona beat all comers around the barrels, with half a second on second place, to take first. Quesnel's Deana Lloyd took second, followed by Sierra Stukel of Kaledin.
The pee wee barrel racers were also out, with Brianna Billy of Williams Lake taking first, Gracie Antoine of Cache Creek taking second and Elly Farmer of Savona in third.
Gerard beat his finish from junior breakaway roping competing with the adults, where he took first. Terris Billyboy of Williams Lake took second, followed by fellow Williams Lake resident Rayell Ilnicki.
Wendel William of Williams Lake took first in junior steer riding, followed by Ty Meyers of Hanceville in second. Jackson Scott took third in the event.
Naramata's Luke Simonin was the best steer wrestler on the weekend, followed by Andy Farmer of Savona and Kamloops' Jackson Scott.
In saddle bronc it was an all Kamloops podium, with Cole Scott coming out on top, riding Black Mariani. Ryland DeRose took second on Little Dave and third on Dynasty.
Willee Twan of Alkali Creek took first in tie down roping, followed by Ian Durrel, from Riske Creek. Riley Isnardy of Cache Creek took third.
Jared Marshall of Prince George rode to the top on Ford Cobra in bareback.
This weekend cowboys and cowgirls face a double header, with the Smithers Fall Fair and Rodeo running from the Aug. 23 – 24 and Waterville, WA. running their rodeo Aug. 24 – 25.
