The Quesnel Kangaroos spent the weekend on the road, first playing in Terrace against the River Kings and then onto Kitimat where they faced the Ice Demons.
Saturday's game against the River Kings left the Roos with their first regular loss of the season, with their only other one being in overtime.
In the game's first period the River Kings scored a goal, giving them a 1-0 lead going into the second.
Marshall Brown from the Kangaroos got it in the net late into the second period and it looked like it would be a tied game going into the third period, but the River Kings slipped another into the Roos' net with just a minute left on the clock.
The third period saw the Roos score two goals early on with Brett Mero getting one in the net within the first minute and Brody Dale giving the Kangaroos the lead shortly after.
But the River Kings tied things back up with just under five minutes. Unfortunately for the Roos, the River Kings repeated their performance in the second period and landed another goal in their net with a minute left on the clock, handing the River Kings a 4-3 win.
On Sunday the Kangaroos weren't messing around and returned to how they've done for the rest of the season with a 9-3 win over Kitimat.
Brett Mero earned a hat-trick in the game with a goal in each of the game's periods. One goal was scored by each of these players:
- Darby Madill
- Alessio Tomassetti
- Bryan Allbee
- Ian Jarvis
- Leif Scott
The Roos play a double header at the West Fraser Centre on Dec. 14 and Dec. 15, both games against Prince Rupert. The Dec. 14 game will be the Kangaroos' annual teddy bear toss.
The River Rush also have a game coming up at the West Fraser Centre on Dec. 13.
