Pickleball players really had to look themselves in the mirror, at a special tournament in Quesnel.
“We held our first ever fraternal twins tournament at Correlieu School, utilizing six courts,” said Sharon MacDonald, president of the Quesnel Pickleball Club.
We know you’re going to ask. We sure did. What the heck is a fraternal twins tournament?
“To enter the tournament you had to choose a member that was born in the same month as you,” MacDonald said. “It was a fun tournament and some got really into the swing of it with costumes. Of course, there was also a prize for best costume.”
There were many prizes, especially for the playing of pickleball, the new racket sport taking the world by whallop. The winners of the fraternal mixer-upper tournament were:
Court 1: Cactus “Pairs”
1st: Fernando Barbosa & Scott Meyer
2nd: David Cook & Rick Prosk
3rd: Juerg Feldmann & Jim Sales
Court 2: D’Anjou “Pairs”
1st: Kay Abbott & Kathy Gook
2nd: Rob Cork & Liz Sales
3rd: Doris Williamson & Dave McCulloch
Court 3: Apple “Pairs”
1st: Frank Diggens & Anna Rankin
2nd: Bonnie Fallowfield & Les Fallowfield
3rd: Rick Abbott & Wes Wiebe
Court 4: Bartlett “Pairs”

The coveted Costume Prize for this first-ever novelty event went to Jenny MacDonald & Raielle Perry
