Special Olympics athletes from across the north headed to Quesnel to compete in the 22nd annual Gold Pan Tournament.

Over 10 teams divided into two divisions felled pins at Rev Bowling Lanes on Saturday, April 23.

The top team in the A Division was the Fort St. John Mis Fits featuring Miranda Laboucane, Peter Fehr, Wyatt Turney, Carmela Klassen, Levi Fowler and coach Kim Turney.

The teams played three games, counting total pins, a change from the usual format where teams compete against their average for the year.

The Mis Fits finished with a three-game total of 2312.

In the individual categories, Debbie Bileck from Prince George and Levi Fowler from Fort St John captured top scores for women and men respectively. Bileck bowled a 190 and Fowler bowled a 229.

Lindstrom also took high score for the B Division, bowling a 218. The ladies high score for the B division was Darcie Muzychka from Prince George, with a 191.

After the event, the teams enjoyed a dinner and dance at the Legion.
