Corbin Taylor, a member of Quesnel Youth Bowling, returned from the provincial playoff in Kamloops as the five-pin kingpin among boys aged 8 - 11 years old. At the provincials, Taylor finished the competition with a total score of 748 pins knocked down, 23 pins better than Jordan McCormick of Vancouver and 24 better than Alex Wright of Kamloops, who finished second and third respectively.

Yes there were a few tears. Understandable, considering they had just been eliminated from the BCHL playoffs and the 20-year-old players would not be returning. But the sombre mood in the Quesnel Millionaires dressing room Tuesday night eventually turned to one of celebration. They celebrated making it through a tough season, celebrated the game the previous night that saw the Mills come within 11.8 seconds of beating the Penticton Vees, but more importantly they celebrated camaraderie.

Nine members of the Quesnel Figure Skating Club are putting the final touches on their routines in preparation for the 2011 Pacific STARSkate Championships, March 4-6, in Cranbrook. Certainly the competition at the provincial championships will be a challenge for the local skaters, but there will be other challenges, coach with the QFSC, Rory Allen said.
