Alison Duddy and the rest of team BC are 3-0 in early round robin action at the Canadian Wheelchair Curling championships in Edmonton, Alta, following wins against Saskatchewan, the host Edmonton team and the NFLD and Labrador team. Duddy admitted she went to Edmonton with a singular goal, the gold medal. It’s been a long year for Duddy, waiting for her shot at payback, an opportunity to atone for last year’s loss in the gold-medal match at the Canadian Wheelchair Championships in Kelowna, B.C.

With three teams sitting at 3-1 records in the Quesnel Curling Superleague playoffs, Wednesday night’s action promised to be a race to the finish. In the end it came down to the last rock and Billy Barker Casino skip Brady Waffle made the tap-back take out to secure the 8-6 win and the purse of $600. Other teams in the hunt were the A&W foursome and the Child Development Centre rink.

The Northern Lights U16 AA ringette team, with 10 girls from Quesnel, returned from the provincial championships in Houston with a new monicker, Team BC.
